As preparations for the highly anticipated National Cell Day commemorations gather momentum across the country, ZANU PF has reaffirmed its position as a disciplined, united and revolutionary mass movement through a strategic directive aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilisation ahead of the National Cell Day commemorations scheduled for 30 June.

Addressing party affiliates at the at the Harare Provincial Offices on Wednesday, Harare Metropolitan Province Chairman, Adv. Goodwills Masimirembwa, announced the temporary suspension of all programmes being undertaken by affiliated organisations within the province.

He was joined by a passionate leader, Harare Provincial Political Commissar Cde Voyage Dambuza and other visionsry senior provincial executives on May 27.

The directive is not a reflection of dissatisfaction with the work of affiliates. On the contrary, party affiliates have played a significant role in advancing ZANU PF’s developmental agenda through community engagement initiatives, empowerment programmes, social interventions, voter mobilisation activities and the promotion of party policies at grassroots level.

Over the years, affiliates have helped expand the party’s reach into communities, mobilised support for national programmes, promoted social cohesion and strengthened the party’s presence among various sectors of society.

Their contribution has been instrumental in complementing the work of party structures and advancing the revolutionary objectives of the movement.

However, with National Cell Day approaching, the party leadership has deemed it necessary to temporarily pause affiliate activities in order to channel all available energies, resources and organisational capacity towards one collective objective the successful mobilisation and strengthening of party cells across Harare Metropolitan Province.

The suspension seeks to ensure that all party wings, structures and affiliates operate in full alignment with the party’s priorities during this critical period.

By concentrating efforts on cell verification, recruitment, consolidation and mobilisation, the party aims to reinforce its grassroots foundation, which remains the backbone of ZANU PF’s organisational strength.

National Cell Day is regarded as one of the most important events on the party calendar, as it underscores the significance of the cell structure as the primary unit of mobilisation, communication and political organisation.

Party officials believe that a unified approach will eliminate duplication of activities, strengthen coordination and maximise participation in preparations for the commemorations.

The temporary pause is therefore viewed as a strategic organisational measure designed to consolidate unity of purpose, sharpen focus and enhance mobilisation efficiency across the province.

As preparations gather momentum, ZANU PF remains committed to its founding principles of order, discipline, unity and ideological clarity, ensuring that every structure of the party contributes effectively towards the success of National Cell Day and the broader revolutionary mandate of serving the people.
