Zimbabwe’s growing influence on the global stage was once again highlighted when ZANU PF Secretary General, Advocate Jacob F.N. Mudenda, represented the ruling party at the prestigious Inter-Party Conference hosted by the Belaya Rus Party in Belarus from 28 to 29 May 2026.

Held under the theme, “State Sovereignty and the Principles of International Relations in the Context of Multipolarity and Diversity in the 21st Century: The Belarusian View,” the conference brought together 40 delegates from 13 political parties and countries across Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa.

Significantly, ZANU PF was the only African political party invited to participate, underscoring Zimbabwe’s growing recognition in international political and diplomatic circles.

During his presentation, Advocate Mudenda outlined Zimbabwe’s remarkable resilience in the face of sanctions and external pressures.

He highlighted the transformative achievements of the Land Reform Programme and the significant progress made in agriculture, mining, infrastructure development and industrialisation under the leadership of His Excellency President Cde Dr ED Mnangagwa.

Advocate Mudenda also applauded the flourishing partnership between Zimbabwe and Belarus, describing it as a model of mutually beneficial cooperation built on mutual respect, sovereign equality and shared developmental aspirations.

The partnership continues to deliver tangible benefits through technology transfer, trade, investment and industrial collaboration.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe’s successful endorsement for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council has been hailed as a major diplomatic milestone and a reflection of the country’s renewed international standing.

ZANU PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa, praised President Mnangagwa and the Second Republic for securing the overwhelming international support.

“You have rightly and proudly reclaimed the prestige, respect and trust of the global community in a short six years of your rule,” said Ambassador Mutsvangwa.

He described President Mnangagwa as the “Legendary Come Back Kid,” attributing Zimbabwe’s diplomatic resurgence and growing global influence to the President’s engagement and re-engagement policy.

Ambassador Mutsvangwa expressed confidence in the nation’s future, stating that under President Mnangagwa’s leadership, Zimbabwe is charting a clear path towards prosperity, international cooperation and sustainable development.

The developments reflect Zimbabwe’s continued commitment to strengthening international partnerships, defending national sovereignty and advancing its Vision 2030 agenda as it assumes a more prominent role in global affairs.
