Zvishavane – Dadaya Training Centre marked a significant milestone in youth empowerment on 4 August 2026, after graduating 2,649 students under the Youth Service in Zimbabwe programme and the Angel of Hope Foundation.

The graduates comprised 1,942 males and 707 females who successfully completed their training, equipping them with practical skills and knowledge to contribute to national development.

The graduation ceremony attracted churches, community members, parents, traditional leaders and representatives from various government departments, highlighting the broad support for youth development initiatives.

The Guest of Honour, Minister of State for Midlands Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Hon. Owen Ncube, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Dr E. Sienza, reaffirmed the Second Republic’s commitment to heritage-based development and the attainment of Vision 2030.

He said the Government remains committed to empowering young people with skills that promote innovation, productivity and industrial development.

Dr Sienza also condemned drug and substance abuse among young people, revealing that 516 arrests related to drug offences had been recorded in 2026. He highlighted the establishment of a rehabilitation centre at Amaveni in Kwekwe as part of Government efforts to combat the growing challenge.

Chief Mafala encouraged the graduates, particularly those who had undergone rehabilitation, to remain drug-free and become responsible citizens who positively contribute to their communities.

The graduation ceremony demonstrated the continued collaboration between Government, traditional leaders, churches and local communities in producing a skilled, disciplined and empowered generation ready to participate in Zimbabwe’s socio-economic development.
