Newly launched hygiene company Dadiso Brands is set to donate reusable sanitary wear to more than 100 teenage girls at a remote and marginalized school as part of its commitment to supporting the girl child and improving menstrual health management in underserved communities.

The initiative is aimed at ensuring that girls have access to safe, affordable and sustainable menstrual hygiene products, helping them remain in school with dignity and confidence.

Lack of menstrual products is one of the challenges contributing to absenteeism among schoolgirls, particularly in rural and disadvantaged communities.

By providing reusable sanitary wear, Dadiso Brands hopes to reduce school absenteeism, improve academic participation and empower girls to pursue their education without interruption.

Beyond supporting education, reusable sanitary wear has significant health benefits. It helps promote proper menstrual hygiene, reducing the risk of infections associated with the prolonged use of unsafe or unhygienic alternatives.

Access to quality reusable sanitary products also restores confidence protects the dignity of young girls and encourages open conversations around menstrual health.

The initiative also contributes to environmental sustainability. Unlike disposable sanitary products that generate large volumes of waste, reusable sanitary wear can be used repeatedly for an extended period when properly cared for.

According to Environmental Laws of Zimbabwe, this helps reduce plastic and sanitary waste, lowers pollution and promotes environmentally responsible hygiene practices, particularly in communities where waste management systems are limited.

At community level, the donation is expected to ease the financial burden on vulnerable families, many of whom struggle to afford menstrual hygiene products every month.

By supporting girls to stay in school and participate fully in community life, the programme contributes to healthier families, stronger communities and greater gender equality.

The donation complements Zimbabwe’s ongoing efforts to promote the welfare of the girl child through policies and programmes that advocate for girls’ education, menstrual health management, gender equality and the elimination of barriers that prevent girls from reaching their full potential.

Government institutions, development partners, civil society organisations, schools, and private sector players have increasingly collaborated to improve access to menstrual hygiene products and reproductive health education, recognising that empowering girls is essential to achieving sustainable national development.

Giving to those in need is a principle deeply rooted in Scripture. As Proverbs 28:27 states: “Those who give to the poor will lack nothing, but those who close their eyes to them receive many curses.”

Inspired by this biblical teaching, Dadiso Brands believes that acts of generosity create lasting change by restoring hope, dignity and opportunity to those who need it most.

Founded with a mission to promote human hygiene and environmental sustainability, Dadiso Brands is committed to delivering innovative hygiene solutions while making a lasting social impact through community outreach, health promotion, and empowerment initiatives that leave no one behind.
