HARARE – ZANU-PF Harare Metropolitan Province has confirmed that it will hold a major “Thank You Rally” at Epworth High School as the party celebrates the successful enactment of Constitutional Amendment Act No. 3 of 2026.

The decision was reached during a Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC) meeting held at Dzokerai Mabhunu Hall following a circular from the party’s National Political Commissar directing provinces to prepare for the nationwide celebrations.

Addressing journalists after the meeting, Harare Provincial Chairman Advocate Cde Godwills Masimirembwa said the province had unanimously agreed to stage the rally at Epworth High School, where thousands of supporters are expected to gather.

“Following a circular from the National Political Commissar, the purpose of this Provincial Coordinating Committee meeting was to prepare for a massive Thank You Rally which we are going to hold at Epworth High School. We unanimously agreed that the rally should be held at that venue,” said Cde Masimirembwa.

He said the celebrations were meant to appreciate the overwhelming support that Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 received from Zimbabweans, particularly the people of Harare Metropolitan Province, until it was signed into law by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

“We are looking forward to a joyful event where we celebrate the massive support that Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 received from the people of Zimbabwe, particularly the people of Harare Metropolitan Province, right up to the time it received Presidential assent and became Constitutional Amendment Act No. 3 of 2026,” he said.

To ensure maximum participation, Cde Masimirembwa announced that the province would deploy hundreds of buses to transport supporters from across Harare’s districts to the venue.

“We are going to provide 300 buses to ferry people from all the districts in Harare to the venue for the celebrations,” he said.

Speaking on the political significance of the gathering, Cde Masimirembwa said many Zimbabweans wanted President Mnangagwa to remain a central figure in the country’s politics, adding that discussions on the future direction of the party would continue through constitutional party processes.

“The people of Zimbabwe want His Excellency President Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa to remain pivotal in the politics of this country. This is a discussion within the province, and we will see what happens during the formulation of resolutions for the forthcoming conference,” he said.

He said Harare residents remained proud of President Mnangagwa’s leadership, citing economic development, infrastructure transformation and Zimbabwe’s growing international standing as key achievements.

“The people of Harare are proud of His Excellency the President. They are already asking, ‘After 2030, where will the President be?’ His leadership has seen Zimbabwe develop in ways that were once unimaginable.”

Cde Masimirembwa also pointed to Zimbabwe’s election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, saying it reflected growing international confidence in the country’s leadership.

“Zimbabwe was supported by 182 countries to become a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council. We need to consolidate the President’s policy of leaving no one and no place behind, being an enemy to no one but a friend to everyone, while championing development under peaceful conditions and national unity,” he said.
